Leavitt’s Mill Free Health Center Has relocated!

Leavitt’s Mill Free Health Center is pleased to announce the relocation of the health center to 63 Main Street in Bar Mills, Maine effective March 16, 2009. The health center has served the local community from its Narragansett Trail location for 5 years, providing free primary care health services to more than 900 persons with no insurance.

The relocation, funded in part with a grant from the Maine Health Access Foundation, promises to enhance the center’s services. Executive Director, Patsy Thompson Leavitt comments: “This move will not only increase capacity and therefore directly impact our clients, but it also offers us an opportunity to involve more students from all of the health disciplines in our work”.

The center’s 30+ volunteers are very excited about the move and what it will mean for the patients. Many of the volunteers are planning to spend the weekend of March 13-15th packing and moving the Center to its new location. A Grand Opening celebration is planned for late Spring.
